River Guide Services

Trip Types

Paddle trips can be planned in a few different ways. When thinking about your trip, consider the time of year and the ability of the least experienced person in your group.  When it comes to distance, always err on the short side as it is always better to have had a great day end early than a day that never seems to end.

Day Trips

A typical beginner's day paddle would see your family and I meet up at the river for a guided trip of between 7 to 12 miles on a flat water river , depending on the flow.  I provide basic beginner canoe instruction, pre arrange any canoe rentals and shuttles, give on the water coaching and tips on reading and navigating the river and can also provide refreshments and a picnic lunch.  Expect to paddle approximately 4 to 5 hours with breaks.

For more advanced paddlers longer distances or more challenging rivers can be selected.

Multi Day Trips

Multi day trips can be done two ways

Base Camping in a campground near the river, (Some campgrounds offer cabins if you are not the "rough it" type.) and paddling different sections of the same river on multiple days.

River Camping, where we take everything with us and camp along the river for a night or two.

Either way, I  work out all the details in advance and can even provide rental camping gear and all meals.  All you have to do is show up.
